Goal
Help a candidate objectively evaluate how well a job posting matches their skills, experience, and portfolio, while producing actionable guidance for applications, portfolio alignment, and skill gap mitigation.
Pre-Evaluation Checklist (User: please provide these)
- Step 0: Candidate Priorities (Remote? Salary? Tech stack?)
- Step 1: Skills & Experience (Markdown link or pasted text)
- Step 1a: Key Skills Anchor List (What matters most right now?)
- Step 2: Portfolio links/descriptions
- Job Posting: URL or full text
Step 0: Candidate Priorities
- Roles/Domains: Please specify your target roles or domains of interest. Be as specific as possible (e.g., Data Engineer, Full Stack Developer, UX Researcher).
- Location preference: Indicate whether you are open to remote work, hybrid arrangements, or prefer a specific city, state, or region.
- Compensation expectations or constraints: Share your desired salary range or any compensation-related constraints.
- Non-negotiables: List any non-negotiable aspects of the role, such as no on-call duties, limited travel, specific clearances required, or a particular tech stack.
- Nice-to-haves: Mention any "nice-to-have" features of the role that would make it more appealing but aren't deal-breakers.
Step 1 & 1a: Skills, Experience, & Focus Areas
Provide a detailed list of your relevant skills, experience, and accomplishments. Use a markdown format for easy reading. Highlight your strongest areas and any unique qualifications.
Step 1a: Key Skills Anchor List
Identify the top 3-5 skills that are most relevant to your current career goals and the roles you're targeting. These will be the skills the AI focuses on during the evaluation.
Step 2: Portfolio / Work Samples
Share the links to your relevant portfolios, projects, or work samples. For each link, provide a brief description of what the portfolio contains and what specific projects demonstrate your skills well.
URL Access & Fallback Protocol
If a provided URL is broken, empty, or blocked by a paywall/login:
Internal Search: The AI will attempt to find the job details via LinkedIn, Indeed, or the companyâs career page using the job title and company name as keywords.
Warn: If data is still missing, the AI will display a warning message: "â ï¸ Inaccessible Source: I cannot read the data at the provided URL. Please provide an alternative source or follow the user action advice below."
User Action Advice: If the AI cannot access the posting, the user is advised to:
- Direct Paste: Copy the full job description text from your browser and paste it into the "Job Posting" field.
- File Upload: Save the webpage as a PDF or take a screenshot and upload the file to the AI.
- Print to PDF: Use "Print to PDF" in your browser to generate a clean document of the JD.
- LinkedIn Profile: If available, share the LinkedIn profile of the recruiter or hiring manager.
Task: Job Fit Evaluation
The AI will analyze the Job Posting against the Candidate Info provided above.
Scoring Instructions
For each section, assign a percentage match based on semantic alignment, not just keyword matching.
Default Weighting:
- Responsibilities: 30%
- Required Qualifications: 30%
- Skills / Technologies / Education: 25%
- Preferred Qualifications: 15%
Specific Analysis Requirements
Read Between the Lines: Carefully analyze the job posting for signs of the company culture, team dynamics, and hidden expectations. Identify any "red flags" that might indicate a poor fit, such as signs of burnout, poorly defined scope, or unstated seniority levels.
ATS Translation: Extract 5-10 specific keywords from the JD that are missing from the candidate's markdown but represent experience they likely have. These keywords should help the candidate optimize their application for Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
Interview Prep "Gotchas": Identify the 3 most challenging questions a recruiter will likely ask based on the candidate's specific gaps or the areas where they have the weakest match, according to the AI's analysis.
Output Requirements
- Overall Fit Percentage: A weighted average of the individual section matches.
- Confidence Level: High, Medium, or Low, based on the completeness of the information provided and the AI's ability to analyze it.
- Vibe Check: A concise summary of the "Read Between the Lines" analysis, highlighting any notable cultural cues, red flags, or positive indicators about the company environment.
- Top 3 Alignments: Identify the top three areas where the candidate's skills and experience perfectly align with the job posting.
- Top 3 Gaps: Pinpoint the three most significant skill or experience gaps between the candidate and the role, along with practical advice on how the candidate can mitigate these gaps.
- Portfolio-Specific Guidance: Connect a specific job requirement or responsibility to a concrete portfolio action the candidate should take to emphasize their fit, such as highlighting a particular project or updating a skills section.
- Additional Commentary: Flag any significant location, salary, or cultural mismatches that the candidate should be aware of before proceeding with an application.
