About the RoleWe are looking for a skilled PHP Developer with strong WordPress experience to join our growing development team. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing high-performing websites and web applications.This role requires hands-on experience with WordPress development, custom plugins, API integrations, and modern PHP frameworks.If you enjoy solving technical challenges, building scalable systems, and working across both back-end and front-end development, this role is for you.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain custom WordPress websites and pluginsBuild and enhance back-end systems using PHPWork with frameworks such as CodeIgniter or LaravelDevelop and consume REST APIsIntegrate third-party APIs including payment gateways and external data feedsOptimize MySQL queries and improve application performanceManage WooCommerce-based e-commerce platformsWrite clean, testable, and well-documented codeConduct API testing using tools such as PostmanImplement unit testing using PHPUnitUse Docker for development and deployment environmentsCollaborate with QA and cross-functional teams to ensure quality deliveryUse Git for version control and participate in code reviewsRequired Skills & ExperienceStrong experience in PHP developmentProven hands-on experience with WordPress (theme and plugin customization)Experience developing custom WordPress pluginsSolid understanding of MySQL databasesExperience with REST API development and integrationFamiliarity with CodeIgniter and/or Laravel frameworksExperience with WooCommerceFront-end knowledge: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQueryExperience with Git version controlExperience working with Docker (preferred)Knowledge of AWS or Google Cloud (nice to have)Nice to HaveExperience building microservicesExposure to Node.js / Express.jsExperience working on high-user e-commerce platformsFamiliarity with Bootstrap and responsive designExperience working in Agile environmentsWhat We're Looking ForStrong problem-solving mindsetAbility to work independently and manage multiple projectsAttention to detailClear communication skillsPassion for writing clean and maintainable codePay: £38,000.00-£45,000.00 per yearBenefits:Sick payWork from homeWork Location: Hybrid remote in Eastleigh SO50
